- A CD of the proceedings of the GAELIC 2005 Symposium have been distributed to all delegates. They are also available on the website :

The support that GAELIC has received in response to the Symposium has been both encouraging and motivating. The 2006 GAELIC and Friends Marketing Fair is scheduled for mid-2006. Broadly, it will explore aspects of marketing library services in the growing arena of the virtual research environment.
- GAELIC recently took a step to move its activities away from committee-based and agenda-driven type structures to "Focus Group" structures. Staff working in GAELIC member libraries who have a keen interest in a particular area of library and information work and would like to be part of the process in establishing Focus groups within GAELIC are welcome to do so. Some basic guidelines are available on the website:

- Congratulations to Rachel More who has been appointed as Interim Director at the University of Limpopo Library.
- Following the retirement of Mr Manikam Moodley from the University of Johannesburg Library, the sharing of managerial responsibilities at the Doornfontein and Auckland Park Campuses has been announced and GAELIC congratulates Ms Neli Kaunda (Acting Director: Internal Operations and Technical Services) and Ms Julia Paris (Acting Director: Client Services and Branch Libraries.) on their appointments.
- The staff of the GAELIC member libraries were saddened to learn of the recent passing away of Margaret Kenyon who was the University Librarian at Rhodes University in the Eastern Cape.
