GAELIC Strategic Planning
On the 8th of February 2007, GAELIC Library Directors and Focus Group leaders met at the North-West University (Vaal Campus) to plan the direction for GAELIC for 2007 and 2008. The session, facilitated by Prof Peter van Eldik of Tshwane University of Technology, started with presentations by the Focus Group leaders, who outlined new trends and initiative and how these new developments could influence the way forward for GAELIC.
This was followed by an open discussion and brainstorming session, which lead to the formulation new goals and objectives for GAELIC.
These objectives and strategies will be fine tuned by various task-teams. We will share this new vision with you one finalized and approved by the Board.

"Books constitute capital. A library book lasts as long as a house, for hundreds of years. It is not, then, an article of mere consumption but fairly of capital, and often in the case of professional men, setting out in life, it is their only capital."
