At the GAELIC AGM held on 8 April 2008, Mr Robert Moropa was appointed as Chairperson of GAELIC for the years 2008-2009. Congratulations!
Changes to the FOTIM Office include:
Jenny Taylor resigned at the end of 2007, and relocated to the Cape.
Shayna Beetge joined the FOTIM Team in the capacity of Administrative Assistant.
Ms Tanya Healey gave birth to a baby boy end of December 2007.

The GAELIC System Investigation Project Team's visit to International Consortia
The Innopac Investigation Team recently visited Spain and Estonia. The purpose of the visit was to:
- Assess the system functionality being used, identify problem areas and suggest ways of overcoming variances
- Assess current cost and ROI of running and supporting the Millennium system and problems encountered.
- Benchmark the use of the system against other libraries and consortia, as gap analysis and for the support of new initiatives in the digital environment.

GAELIC Celebration
GAELIC celebrated 10 years of successful collaboration at a function on 3 December 2007. GGB members, Focus Group Leaders and other staff who have contributed to GAELIC were invited to share the celebration. Our thanks to everyone who has been instrumental in making a success of GAELIC.

GAELIC Information Session on Electronic Resource Management Systems
The GAELIC Information Session was held on 23 April 2008 at the Unisa Library, Electronic Learning Centre. The session was attended by 35 staff members from various GAELIC libraries.

Obituary: Dr Brian Brink
Dr Brian Brink, as Library Director of the University of Venda, was a Board member of GAELIC for many years. Brian also served briefly as Treasurer of GAELIC, where he was responsible for managing the finances of GAELIC.
He was invited as an honoured guest to sing at the GAELIC Celebration held in December 2008.
Dr Brian Brink passed away in February 2008. The National Library and LIASA hosted his memorial service in Pretoria.
